About JB Tutoring in Austin, TX

Our Austin tutoring sessions are 1, 1.5, or 2 hours in length, and they generally take place on the day/time of your choice. Our in-person sessions can take place at a local coffee shop or library works, or even at students' homes. Given the risks presented by COVID-19, online tutoring has become a popular option as well!

Most students have tutoring sessions 1-3 times per week for the duration of the semester. After students select the day(s) and time(s) that work best for them, we help select a tutor that matches their needs and schedule.

Tutoring sessions are typically one-on-one. We recommend one-on-one tutoring sessions because this allows your students to receive focused assistance tailored to their unique needs and areas of difficulty. Meet The Founder

Jaclyn Barber is the proud owner and founder of JB Tutoring. She has 10 years of private tutoring experience, and has assisted elementary school students, middle school students, high school students, and college students in a wide variety of subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Writing, Spanish, SAT prep, ACT prep, College Applications, and more!

Jaclyn grew up in Austin and graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Religion and Philosophy from Texas Christian University. Although Jaclyn had initially planned to pursue a career as a holistic counselor or college professor, she found herself doing a lot of private tutoring post- graduation. Over time, Jaclyn learned that not only was she extremely skilled in this line of work, but that there was a real need for it in her local community. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 made it doubly so.

Since founding JB Tutoring in 2018, Jaclyn and her team of tutors have served over 700 families and earned nothing but five-star reviews on Google.

Jaclyn and her team assist students in all K-12th subjects, SAT/ACT Prep, college application essays, and more. The team is full of truly brilliant, dependable, young professionals who have a penchant for mentorship and making education more approachable and engaging to younger students.
